Don’t Get Arrested for DUI During the Holidays – AAA Will Tow You Home Safe

Every year, I typically send this information to friends around the holiday season.  However, now that I have this blog, I figured I should write a short post about it.  Since 1998, AAA and Budweiser have jointly sponsored their “Tow to Go” program that offers intoxicated drivers a FREE ride home.  Not only will they give you a FREE ride home, they will actually tow your car home with you!  The service is offered to both members and non-members alike.  Although I’d love more business at my criminal defense practice, I’d prefer my readers make it home safe and not have to deal with a DUI arrest or worse.  To get your free ride home, call (855) 2TOW2GO or (855) 286-9246.

In 2015, the “Tow to Go” service will be offered for the Thanksgiving Holiday from November 25th through November 29th.  For Christmas and New Years, the service will be provided from December 24th through January 2, 2016.

Also, since we’re on the subject, you should not wait inside your car for the tow truck driver if you are intoxicated.  Under Florida law, you could be arrested for DUI even if you are not driving.  All that is required is that you are in “actual physical control” of a motor vehicle while your “normal faculties” are impaired.  Yes that’s right, you CAN be arrested for DUI if caught sleeping in your vehicle while you are intoxicated.  People I don’t make the laws.. I just write about them.
